Well... it's the Year of the Tiger again. And as the year of my chinese zodiac sign rolls in, I can't help but feel that I am, alas, not very tigerish.
Take this description of tiger traits, lifted off this here website.
Occupying the 3rd position on the Chinese Zodiac, the Tiger symbolizes such character traits as bravery, competitiveness and unpredictability. Tigers love to be challenged and will accept any challenge if it means protecting a loved one or protecting their honor. They don’t worry about the outcome because they know they’ll always land on their feet. Don’t let their calm appearance fool you though; Tigers will pounce when they feel it’s necessary.
Born to lead, Tigers can be stubborn if they realize they’re not in charge. They have a slight tendency to be selfish but overall, Tigers are extremely generous. They’re very intelligent and they’re always on alert. Tigers are very charming and are well-liked by others. They are not motivated by money or power.
I would hardly call myself competitive. In fact, I have a rather mild personality that is perfectly content with being left alone. I don't really compare myself with others, and to me, what others do is their business while what I do is certainly mine.
As for being unpredictable... well though change is sometimes good, I do have a tendency to stick to routines. I also always look before I leap, because unlike the description, I'm not always sure I'll land on my feet!
Being a female tiger, I realize supersititous people do disdain our kind for being fierce and not good for marriage. Sometimes I wonder if that view holds water, since I am hardly what one would call a fierce person. In fact, my mum has remarked that I am more of a cat that a tiger. That is the most accurate description of how I see myself. A rather large, playful ginger tabby cat. Haha.
So anyway, whether this year is good for tigers or not, we all still have to go through it. So here's wishing you a HAPPY CNY! Whatever your zodiac, may your new year be a blessed one.
