Wah... this week my posts all seem to be about project work. Lol. =P No life already...

Anyway, got an issue concerning a member of one of my project groups. She's hasn't been attending lessons for the past 2 to 3 weeks, and has not been turning up for a single project meeting so far. That's 1 online meeting through msn; and 3 physical meetings in school. As such, there's been little contribution from her since we started working on our project.

Well, she does have a reason for it. Apparently her father is ill, and she has to care for him. That's valid enough, and we all sympathize with her. She informed us through an email (cced to the Prof), but after a while, there was no news or updates on her situation back home. She did send some information for our project. However, we needed her presence.

Naturally enough, we had to do something.

So we informed the prof, and the prof said that she knew of her problem. She had replied saying that whatever her situation was, she still had to contribute to the project. Then there were the frequent emails we sent asking her to come, and even 2 phone calls made to her. For the emails, she usually replied them only on the day of the meeting itself, and after the meeting had started, saying she couldn't come. As for the phone calls, she explained her situation but seemed a little vague on the details.

She sent us her hotmail address, requesting a conferencing session from home. However, despite adding her to our contact lists, she was never online.

Conclusion?

Well, it's a sticky situation. On the one hand, we would like to know her reasons better. On the other hand, it's a sensitive topic to investigate. However, I've gotten word about how she's been missing meetings for another project as well.

So, we'll see how it goes.
