BBQ time!

Rushed down to East Coast after my CCA meeting in the afternoon for the annual 4/2 class barbeque. Met up with Jolene and Cla (preparing the food), Manfred (preparing the pit) and Fui (floating somewhere else but turning up suddenly) when I arrived.

Helped Jolene to wrap up hashbrowns, while Cel came along later with a pack of ice. We all chipped in with the food, and what a spread it was! Prawns, squid, chicken wings, hashbrowns, satay, bee hoon (provided by Mar who came all the way from Australia to cook for us, awww...), stingray, sausages, crabrolls, otah, fruits, marshmallows and large blocks of chocolate (more on that later).

Soon, Manfred started the pit and began cooking. The rest of us girls chipped in, and acted as initial taste-testers. By the time the rest of the class arrived, the bbq was well under way, with a roaring fire, great food and pleasant company.

We all managed to catch up with each other. It was amazing to see how some of my classmates had changed. There was also much talk about our educational and occupational paths. How times change. In the past, we used to discuss about what schools or courses we were going to . Now it seems everyone already has their life planned ahead of them.

After most of the food had been eaten, we turned our attention to dessert. As mentioned earlier, we had bought blocks of chocolate. Now, these were placed in an aluminium pan and left on the grille over the fire. The result? Chocolate sauce! And with the fruits (bananas and grapes) and marshmallows, we now had fondue!

After stuffing ourselves with fondue and settling down to chat, the barbeque slowly came to a close. We split ourselves into two groups, one leaving for Marina Cove to continue hanging out, while the other went home. I was from the latter group. Boy was I sleepy.
