People often say that it doesn't matter how big it is...

It's how cute it can be.

Presenting... Pat's dog!

Rowwwwooooo...

He currently doesn't have a name, the poor dear. As I found out one day on msn.

Renee: wats ur dogs name?

Pat: erm

Pat: he has no name

Renee: wat?? then how you call him?

Pat: erm

Pat: come here come here

Renee: = = so his name is come here

Yup, that's about it. This is uttered in chinese (过来过来) accompanied by plenty of enthusiastic waving and baby talk.

Well, the dog doesn't do much. Like a typical lap dog, it's duties include eating, sleeping, getting into trouble by teasing bigger dogs (Pekinese dogs are notoriously bad-tempered) and getting its face squeezed on a regular basis.

And as is usually the case, the level of cuteness is inversely proportional to level of intelligence.

Pat: there was one time in summer.

Renee: ok

Pat: it was hot

Pat: I was drinking coke

Renee: ok

Pat: I poured some on the ground for him

Renee: err ok ur dog drinks coke

Pat: no actualli

Renee: yeah?

Pat: he rolled in it

Renee: wat???

Pat: it was hot

Pat: the coke was cold

Renee: ...

This feisty little pooch is the smallest dog in a family of 3. Yes, his family loves dogs. And as is the case, they often bring the doggies out on regular walks. And so transpires another incident.

Pat: one time my mum brought the dog out for a walk

Pat: it was snowing and quite deep

Renee: Ok...

Pat: then the dog disappeared

Renee: oh dun tell me

Pat: disappeared into the snow

Pat: XD

Renee: poor thing

Renee: how you found it?

Pat: it jump jump

Renee: gawd

So while he was in Singapore, he would often call back to ask about the dog (and his parents). The dog is quite old, but still has an excellent memory. There was one time his mum turned the webcam towards the dog, so that Pat could see him. Likewise, the little guy recognized Pat's face on the computer screen. It responded by barking enthusiastically.

Now that Pat's back, he is bonding once more with his dog and the 2 others (his mum's). He is currently in charge of bathing and feeding them. Thanks to the colder weather, he doesn't have to do the former as often as one would have to in sunny Singapore.

It's true what they say... A dog is a man's best friend.

But girlfriends still rule! ;)

PS: Anyone have any idea what name to give him? I suggested, among others, Wan Wan, Yuan Yuan, Bo Bo, Mao Mao XD.
